The Washington Huskies knew they were getting a unique weapon two years ago when they recruited Austin Seferian-Jenkins from Gig Harbor High.
The big tight end was good as a freshman, and he bordered on great as a sophomore as he hauled in 63 catches for 789 yards and six touchdowns. He’s already the Huskies’ career leader in receptions, yardage and TDs for tight ends.
His performance helped Washington earn a berth to the Las Vegas Bowl, and he was recognized by The Associated Press as a third-team All-American.
