Heading into the season, Bellarmine Prep’s girls soccer team had won five straight Narrows League titles, but a lot of people expected that streak to end because of the talent at Gig Harbor.
The Tides made those predictions prophetic as they won the league title behind its stifling defense, forward Celia Vaughn’s timely goals, and the leadership of midfielder Allie Bohnett, the league’s co-MVP.
The team’s only blemish during the regular season was a draw against Bellarmine, but a 2-0 loss to Issaquah derailed its postseason journey. Gig Harbor finished the year 14-1-1.
