The 2011 season was all about building momentum for the Peninsula fastpitch program. With a talented roster that featured several underclassmen, the Seahawks earned a Class 3A state tournament berth for the first time in eight seasons.
Last spring, most key players returned and led Peninsula to the South Puget Sound League title, the first in program history.
With pitcher Aspen Ison at the top of her game, and sluggers Anne Binschus and Alaina Morgan in the middle of the lineup, the Seahawks thought they could capture a state trophy. But they lost a pair of close games to Meadowdale and Mount Si to quickly bow out at the season-ending tournament.
