Dozens of neighbors to the proposed Sherman Hollow development left the City Council meeting disappointed Tuesday after council members denied an appeal of the 19-unit housing project.
Eagle developer Pacific West Communities plans to buy the project from Aspen Hollow Investors, which first gained approval for it in 2008. Then, the Sherman Hollow plan called for 27 homes, and the Ada County Highway District required the developer to buy two feet of right-of-way from several property owners along Sherman Street. The idea was to make room for a widening of the road and the addition of curbs, gutters and sidewalks on both sides.
Aspen Hollow didn't buy the necessary rights-of-way.
