A man suspected of ramming his truck into his ex-wife’s Kent home early Thursday and shooting her in the hand before fleeing appears to have died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds, authorities said.

The ramming happened about 3:30 a.m. in the 15300 block of Southeast 307th Street, King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindi West said. Three other people, ages 10 to 18, were inside the house, West said. Two escaped out windows and one called 911.

The driver backed out of the house and drove away.

Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies found the man’s truck off of U.S. Route 2 between Gold Bar and Index at the Lake Serene trailhead. A man’s body was next to the vehicle with what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds, spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office had not identified the dead man as of Thursday afternoon.
