The News Tribune photo staff spent the year capturing the moments that defined our community.

We were with NBA player Isaiah Thomas when he returned to his childhood home to work with children at the Henry T. Schatz Boys & Girls Club. We were with Derrick Peacock and Pablo Monroy as they celebrated their marriage. And we were with Oscar Campos Estrada and his family when he was released from the Northwest Detention Center after being detained for five months.

From the heights of Mount Rainier to the hallways of our public schools to the fields of Afghanistan, we endeavored to make photographs that tell the stories of people from our community.
