The San Francisco 49ers placed wide receiver Mario Manningham on the injured reserve list Friday.

Manningham tore both the ACL and PCL in his left knee after being tackled by Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill during last Sunday's 42-13 setback to the Seahawks. The offseason acquisition will require surgery that will keep him out of San Francisco's regular-season finale as well as the entire upcoming playoffs.

In his first season with the 49ers, the fifth-year wideout started 10 of the 12 games he played in and recorded 42 catches for 449 yards and one touchdown.

To fill the vacant spot on the roster, the team promoted defensive lineman Tony Jerod-Eddie from the practice squad.

Having already qualified for the postseason, San Francisco can wrap up its second consecutive NFC West title with a victory over Arizona this Sunday.
