A Cinnabon employee reportedly was assaulted and robbed while in a back hallway of Columbia Center mall Friday on her way to make a bank deposit for the business.
The attack happened just after noon, according to a release from the Kennewick Police Department. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.
The victim was treated for unknown injuries at Kennewick General Hospital.
Investigators hadn't interviewed the victim as of 3 p.m. Friday.
An employee contacted by phone at the mall eatery confirmed there is an investigation but declined to comment.
Pasco woman injured in crash near Plymouth
Icy roads and speed contributed to a rollover crash on Highway 14 just west of Plymouth on Friday morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Beatrice Vidal, 22, of Pasco, was driving a 2008 Suzuki SX hatchback west on Highway 14 at 5:30 a.m. when she lost control of her car on the ice. Her car left the road and rolled, the state patrol said.
She was taken to Kennewick General Hospital with unknown injuries. Her car was totaled, the state patrol said.
The crash happened about three miles west of Plymouth. The state patrol said Vidal would be cited for driving too fast for conditions.
Man allegedly fires gun at Sunnyside dance club
Sunnyside police are searching for a 31-year-old man on suspicion of pointing a gun at two people and firing it into the ceiling at the Dark Horse Inn early Friday.
Armando Godinez Ramos, 31, of Sunnyside, is wanted on suspicion of second-degree assault and first-degree kidnapping, according to a release from the Sunnyside Police Department.
Police say Ramos allegedly forced his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend to leave the dance club with him.
The incident happened at 12:30 a.m. Friday at the club on Yakima Valley Highway.
Police said a male patron attempted to stop an alleged altercation between Ramos and a woman on the dance floor. The patron reportedly knocked Ramos to the floor to stop his assault on the woman.
Police say that's when he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the patron and another woman before firing it at least twice into the ceiling.
Initial reports were that Ramos then allegedly grabbed the woman that he had just assaulted and forced her to leave with him. While leaving the club, the man allegedly fired the gun one more time, according to police.
All gun shots appeared to have been directed upward into the ceiling, police said.
The woman was later found in good condition at home by police, the release said.
Ramos and the gun have not been found yet. Ramos is known to use numerous aliases.
Hermiston woman accused of attempt to elude
A Hermiston woman was arrested Thursday for attempting to elude police while traveling with two young children in a stolen SUV on Interstate 84.
Pendleton police were pursuing the Ford Explorer driven by Amelia V. Cortez, 26, for attempting to elude an officer when two Oregon State Police troopers joined the chase about 1 p.m. on the interstate, according to a release.
During the pursuit, the troopers learned the driver was originally sought by the Umatilla County Sheriff's Office for a noncustodial parental interference complaint.
When Cortez exited onto the Umatilla-Stanfield Highway, she drove over spike strips deployed by a waiting OSP trooper. The Explorer continued northbound for five miles before the front wheels came off.
When Cortez was arrested, authorities found a 3-year-old boy and 8-month-old girl in the car. Both were released to a Umatilla County deputy.
Cortez was booked in the Umatilla County jail and on suspicion of a felony attempt to elude in a vehicle, as well as warrants on two probation violations in Umatilla County and failure to appear in Morrow County.
Pasco man sought for failing to register
Crime Stoppers is seeking a Pasco man on three counts of failing to register as a sex offender and failing to appear for delivery of cocaine.
Limmie Erik Davonn Smith, 30, is 5-foot-5, 235 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
He also is known as Mike L. Jackson, Eric Devon Smith and Eric C. Police say he has scars on his chest and tattoos on his chest and right arm.
