Boy Scouts Troop 244 will pick up Christmas trees Saturday throughout Gig Harbor during their annual fundraising event.

The troop will recycle the trees into compost chips, and all funds collected will support Boy Scouts of America programming, including Boy Scout Resident Camp and High Adventure Camp this summer.

To participate, place trees on the curb by 8 a.m. Saturday. Suggested donations of $5 to $25 can be made by attaching an envelope to the tree with checks made payable to Boy Scout Troop 244. No wreaths or flocked trees can be collected.

To request pickup or learn more about scouting, call Cheryl Smith at 253-686-0892.
