Jost’s magnetic personality made her a fan favorite during Tides volleyball matches this year. Her fellow students chanted “Josted” every time she recorded a kill.
Jost was a first-team, all-league outside hitter, but her true talent lies in track and field. She absolutely dominated for most of the 2012 season, and she capped it with state medals in the long jump and high jump. She won the state title in the triple jump, during which she soared 39 feet, 4 1/2 inches, a school record by nearly 3 feet.
“I felt pretty confident coming in, but I didn’t think it would turn out this well,” Jost said of her junior season.
