Browne, who’s now competing for Lane (Ore.) Community College, had one of the most brilliant seasons in Gig Harbor track and field history, and that’s saying a lot.
Browne was part of two school-record marks in 2012: He ran the 100-meter dash in 10.85 seconds to finish second at May’s state meet, and he anchored the Tides’ championship in the 400 relay, which barely missed a meet record in 41.43 seconds.
“I’ll go and watch it on YouTube every once in a while, because it’s amazing,” he said of the relay. “It’s one of the best races of my life. It was perfect.”
At Star Track XXX, the senior also placed first in the long jump and second in the triple jump.
