A house fire that severely injured two people Tuesday night in Tacoma also caused an estimated $65,000 in damages, the Fire Department reported Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to the 4510 block of South Fawcett Avenue about 10:20 p.m. and found heavy flames and smoke from the front of the 936-square-foot home.
Cause of the fire has not been determined.
A man and a woman escaped the fire before crews arrived. Both were hospitalized with serious injuries. The woman suffered second-degree burns to her hands and legs; and the man suffered second-degree burns to his face and head, according to Tacoma police.
