Home Builders to offer stormwater workshop

The Home Builders Association is offering a storm-water workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at 10001 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.

Topics include permits, illicit discharge ordinances and construction and post-construction legal liabilities. Vendors will present runoff mitigation products.

The workshop is free and open to all homebuilders, landscapers, contractors, engineering consultants and local agencies. For more information, call Trish at 942-7386.

    The second workshop is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 4 at the Kennewick Library, 1620 S. Union St., Kennewick.

  • Workshops offered for military families

    The Benton Franklin Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering free "Reconnection Workshops" for military families struggling to adjust after a loved one's return from duty.

    Topics include communication, stress and trauma, depression, relating to children and working through anger.

    The first workshop is scheduled for 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Red Cross, 7202 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick.

  • Trail-running workshop set Wednesday at REI in Kennewick

    REI is offering a free trail-running basics workshop.

    The workshop will discuss the proper technique, training, clothing and footwear needed for trail running.
