Steilacoom maintenance technician named alumni of the year

The Steilacoom Historical Education Foundation has named Clement Foster the recipient of its Distinguished Alumni Award.

The Steilacoom Historical Education Foundation has named Clement Foster the recipient of its Distinguished Alumni Award.

Foster attended Steilacoom schools from kindergarten through high school and became an employee of the district as a student custodian.

Over the past 22 years, he has advanced through several positions and is now a senior maintenance technician for the district facilities and maintenance department.

He developed training safety courses and usage guidelines for district equipment, chemical management and maintenance processes. The Environmental Protection Agency requested him as a presenter at its national conference in Washington, D.C.
