The company, a subsidiary of St. Louis-based Centene Corporation, is one of five managed care companies serving the state’s nearly one million Medicaid recipients.

‘Like a good neighbor”? For downtown Tacoma, State Farm might be “like the best neighbor ever.”
It’s hard to fault Tacoma officials for looking in every possible nook and cranny for revenue. They have an enormous budget hole to fill, and every dollar in revenue or cost-savings they can find means a little less they have to cut in the way of services and personnel.
In an email to its DuPont employees, State Farm confirmed its plans to locate some of its offices in downtown Tacoma late this year. The email, dated April 2 but received by most employees today, also assured employees that the company plans to continue to use its DuPont facility, and it cautioned that references to number of potential employees in Tacoma are "purely speculative."
A major Tacoma-based company is getting bigger. TrueBlue Inc. announced today that it is broadening its nationwide reach with the acquisition of the nation's third-largest general labor staffing firm.
