A man driving a stolen car crashed head-on into a Federal Way patrol car at the end of a pursuit early Monday, police said.
An officer spotted the stolen car driving on 21st Avenue Southwest near Southwest 320th Street about 4:30 a.m. and followed it into the Twin Lakes neighborhood. As the driver accelerated and tried to get away, the officer started chasing him, police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said.
As the driver turned east from Southwest 342nd Street, he lost control of the car, which jumped the curb and hit the patrol car. Schrock said the officer was not hurt; the patrol car sustained minor damage to the front bumper and push bar.
A 27-year-old Kirkland man was arrested on suspicion of eluding and possessing a stolen vehicle. His passenger, a 25-year-old Federal Way woman, was released.
