Wind advisory issued for Puget Sound region

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in Tacoma with gusts up to 50 miles per hour predicted through the afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in Tacoma with gusts up to 50 miles per hour predicted through the afternoon and evening.

Other affected cities include Olympia, Seattle, Bremerton, Bellevue and the Lake Lawrence area in Thurston County.

The advisory is in effect until midnight.

Forecasters said the afternoon will bring sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph likely.

Power outages and downed trees are possible.

    Monday's forecast calls for rain with a high of 39 degrees. The wind advisory is in effect though 4 p.m.
