Peninsula’s Caleb Riggs swam state qualifying times in the 200 IM (2:03.16) and the 100 breaststroke (1:02.55) as the Seahawks beat Foss, 125-61.

Emerald Ridge’s Riley Clarke outscored Federal Way’s Raven Benton, 30-20, but the Eagles won the boys basketball game, 61-45, in Puyallup to get the season sweep.

Junior wing Kaycee Creech and senior point guard Katie Rozumny led Cascade Christian in scoring with 15 points each to help the Cougars to a 52-44 home victory over 1A Nisqually League foe Seattle Christian in girls basketball. Madelyn Weber led all scorers with 16 points in the Warriors’ loss.

Down 46-41 against Quilcene at the start of the fourth quarter, Muckleshoot took a 62-58 lead after Josh Cline (19 points) made two free throws and Tristan John (12) added a layup with 23 seconds remaining in the game. After a 3-pointer by Jacob Pleines (21 points) brought the Rangers to within one, 62-61, Muckleshoot’s defense prevented Quilcene from getting off a shot as time expired, preserving the Kings’ victory.
