At No. 2 Michigan 62, Nebraska 47: Glenn Robinson III had 14 points, including a pair of crucial dunks in the second half, and the Wolverines (16-0, 3-0 Big Ten) equaled their best start to a season with the victory over the Cornhuskers (9-7, 0-3). Michigan overcame cold shooting – 39 percent, including 3-of-17 accuracy on 3-pointers – but held the lead for the entire second half. The only other Michigan team to start 16-0 was the 1985-86 squad that went on to win the Big Ten.

At No. 6 Kansas 97, Iowa State 89 (OT): Freshman Ben McLemore had a career-high 33 points, including a tying 3-pointer with a second remaining in regulation, and the Jayhawks rallied to beat the Cyclones. The Jayhawks (13-1, 1-0 Big 12) scored the first nine points of overtime to wrap up their 12th straight win. Iowa State (10-4, 0-1) poured in 14 3-pointers, and had a 79-76 lead with 8.4 seconds to go in regulation before McLemore’s shot.

No. 8 Minnesota 84, at No. 12 Illinois 67: Joe Coleman scored 29 points, Trevor Mbakwe had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Andre Hollins added 19 points to help the Gophers (15-1, 3-0 Big Ten) beat the Illini (14-3, 1-2).

No. 14 Butler 72, at Saint Joseph’s 66: The one-two punch of Rotnei Clarke (28 points) and Andrew Smith (24 points, 10 rebounds) helped the Bulldogs (13-2, 1-0 Atlantic 10) beat the Hawks (8-5, 0-1) for their 10th straight win.

At No. 20 N.C. State 83, Georgia Tech 70: Lorenzo Brown had 21 points and 10 assists, and the Wolfpack (13-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) pulled away late to beat the Yellow Jackets (10-4, 0-2) for their ninth straight win. N.C. State hosts top-ranked Duke on Saturday.

At No. 23 Wichita State 82, S. Illinois 76: Cleanthony Early scored 39 points to as the Shockers (15-1, 4-0 Missouri Valley) beat the Salukis (7-8, 0-4). Early’s 39 points were the most for a Wichita State player since former Seattle SuperSonics star Xavier McDaniel had 44 in 1985.

At No. 25 New Mexico 65, No. 24 UNLV 60: In the Mountain West opener for both teams, Alex Kirk had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lobos (14-2, 1-0) a victory over the Rebels (13-3, 0-1). Trailing 63-60, UNLV’s Katin Reinhardt’s 3-pointer caromed off the front of the rim with 13.5 seconds to go and Tony Snell made both free throws to clinch it.

At No. 1 Baylor 67, No. 25 Iowa State 39: Brittney Griner scored the game’s first five points and finished with 23, and the Bears (13-1, 3-0 Big 12) led throughout in defeating the Cyclones (11-2, 2-1) – Baylor’s first game since reclaiming the No. 1 spot. The Bears set a Big 12 record with their 25th consecutive conference win.
