The Skagit Valley Herald is reporting two suspects wanted for reportedly assaulting and shooting a Camano Island woman last week are in police custody this morning after a week on the run.

The Island County Sheriff’s Office reported that former Meadowdale High School football star Naji Roshad Moore-Taylor and Megan Noelle Failing, both 21, were taken into custody Wednesday night by the Renton Police Department. Both suspects are from the Seattle-Bothell area, and the sheriff’s office reported that tips from the community had indicated both had still been in that area after the assault.

Moore-Taylor and Failing were to be transported to Island County.

According to reports, Moore-Taylor and Failing brutally assaulted and shot a 29-year-old Camano Island woman in her home Jan. 3.

The victim had told sheriff’s deputies that she had known the suspects about four months before the attack.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Island County Superior Court had issued arrest warrants for the suspects for first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and first-degree kidnapping.
