Richland School District plans information night

RICHLAND -- The Richland School District is holding a districtwide information night.

All parents and community members are invited.

The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 23 at Richland High School, 930 Long Ave.

Complimentary pizza and drinks will be served.

Parents will have the opportunity to learn about instructional programs, use of technology, learning standards, college preparation and other topics.

    The Richland School District is sponsoring a Nutrition and Wellness Fair.

    The fair will be from 8 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at Chief Joseph Middle School, 504 Wilson St., Richland.

    Students and staff will learn about healthy foods and exercise. Parents are welcome to attend.

  • Richland schools to preview sixth-grade program March 12

    The Richland School District is offering a preview of the "Growth and Development" program at 3:30 p.m. March 12 at the Enterprise Middle School library, 5200 Paradise Way, West Richland.

    The program is presented to six graders. Girls and boys programs are conducted separately.

  • Richland High group offering scholarships

    Richland High School’s Club 40 is offering two $1,000 scholarships to the school’s graduating seniors and encourages all to apply.

  • Richland teacher named top DECA adviser in state

    A Richland High School teacher has been named the top DECA adviser in the state.

    Stephanie Schirm, a marketing teacher at the school, was named 2013 Advisor of the Year by Washington State DECA, which is an international organization for marketing students, according to a release.

    The Richland School District said Richland High’s DECA chapter has accomplished a lot under Schirm’s guidance and her students are highly regarded for their commitment to the community.
