Tacoma events will help students with financial aid

College Goal Sunday Washington, a free program that helps students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), will be at two Tacoma schools this week to instruct students and families on how to get money top pay for college. The program will help families complete and submit the FAFSA, learn about filing deadlines and other important information about paying for college, and find resources for undocumented students and other non-FAFSA filers. Students who attend may enter to win a $250-$500 scholarship.

College Goal Sunday Washington, a free program that helps students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), will be at two Tacoma schools this week to instruct students and families on how to get money top pay for college. The one-day events will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Tahoma High School and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilson High School.

    Columbia Basin College on Sunday will provide information and assistance to Washington families wanting to apply for college financial aid.

    College Goal Sunday is a statewide program that will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Lee R. Thornton Center on CBC's Pasco campus, according to a news release.

    Students should attend with a parent or guardian and bring their parents' completed 2012 IRS tax return or other information on income and benefits. Students also will need their Social Security number, driver's license and Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, PIN.
