Tacoma residents now have twice the opportunity to share what’s on their minds with the Tacoma School Board.

Last week, the board changed its meeting procedures to allow public comment at both regular monthly business meetings. The board usually schedules those meetings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Previously, board practice was to accept public comment at only one meeting. The change was made following a public request.

In addition, the board announced that it will schedule a regular time for study sessions on the third Thursday of the month, beginning at 6 p.m. this Thursday. The school board usually meets in the fourth-floor boardroom in the district’s downtown Central Administration Building, 601 S. Eighth St.
