Term ‘Democrat Party' generally regarded as insulting

Thank you for the accurate reporting of the recent caucus of the Democratic Party Precinct Committee Officers to prepare a list of candidates to replace Derek Kilmer as the state Senator from the 26th Legislative District.

Thank you for the accurate reporting of the recent caucus of the Democratic Party Precinct Committee Officers to prepare a list of candidates to replace Derek Kilmer as the state Senator from the 26th Legislative District.

However, I was shocked to see the reference to the Democrat Party, since that term is generally regarded as an insulting identification of Democrats by such people as Rush Limbaugh, John Boehner and other Republicans who intend to insult members of the Democratic Party.

The Gateway really owes the Democratic Party an apology for allowing the term into an otherwise accurate article.
