J an. 1 — A 17-year-old boy was arrested after he was found in possession of 8 grams of marijuana. The boy admitted to smoking a small quantity of the substance an hour before contact with a police officer. The boy and three other juveniles were parked in an area police characterize as well-used for teens to consume alcohol and drugs. The boy was cited for being a minor in possession. His mother was called, as were the parents of the other minors. Juvenile charges may be pending.
