D ec. 31 — A homeowner on David Day Drive smelled smoke and noticed a glowing between the firebox and wood stove insert. Fire crews were called and found no extension of fire to the surrounding walls. The homeowner had extinguished the fire and planned to have his stove and chimney serviced before he used it again.

A garage fire that started Monday afternoon in Tacoma was arson, according to the Fire Department.

A fire destroyed a Tacoma garage Tuesday and damaged a nearby garage, according to the Fire Department.
A fire that caused about $12,000 in damages to a Tacoma home Wednesday was caused by a stove fire, the Tacoma Fire Department reported.
Nobody was injured in an early morning fire that destroyed a home at 8427 Valley Green Court SE, Lacey, officials say. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
