Crews will close a section of eastbound state Route 16 in Tacoma late tonight to continue work on the Nalley Valley project, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The closure will take place at 11 p.m. at Union Avenue. It will include the on-ramp from Union Avenue to eastbound Route 16. Lanes are expected to reopen by 4 a.m. Friday.

The Nalley Valley project is replacing the existing eastbound Route 16 structure that spans Nalley Valley. It also will finish the Route 16 and Sprague Avenue interchange.
