The Denver Broncos promoted Adam Gase to offensive coordinator on Thursday.

Gase is entering his fifth year with Denver and ninth in the NFL overall. He spent the past two seasons as the team's quarterbacks coach.

"Adam was an integral part of the success we had offensively this season and was heavily involved in all aspects of our game plan, both during the week and on game day," Broncos head coach John Fox said. "Maintaining that continuity with our offense was very important in this decision. While we did speak with several qualified candidates, it became clear that Adam was the best fit to be our offensive coordinator."

Gase takes over for Mike McCoy, who left Denver to take the head coaching job for the San Diego Chargers.
