The Department of Defense has announced the death of a JBLM soldier in Afghanistan.
A Joint Base Lewis-McChord Stryker soldier on his third deployment was killed in Afghanistan Monday, the Defense Department announced tonight.
As of Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at least 2,085 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan as a result of the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to an Associated Press count.
According to a Department of Defense release: "Sgt. 1st Class James F. Grissom, 31, of Hayward, Calif., died March 21 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, of wounds suffered from small arms fire March 18 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan."
A Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier died Saturday from wounds suffered in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.
