Reflections at the Airport, the latest restaurant at the Tacoma Narrows Airport, has closed after 16 months. The restaurant official shut its doors after brunch on Jan. 13.
“We would like to thank the community for their support during our 16 months run,” said Reflections owners Doug and Sue Henry in an email to the Gateway. “We would also like to personally thank Deb Wallace, Warren Hendrickson, Stanley Flemming, Toby Rickman, Jay Simons and Don Woodcock from Pierce County for their continued awesome support from intitial communications in early 2011 until the last day. We would like to express our appreciation to our entire list of venders and a heartfelt thank you to our staff who stuck by us till the very end.”
Reflections was the fifth retaurant at the airport, an isolated location for a business, in recent years. Past restaurants included Rotors Bar & Grill, Taste of Eden, Blue Sky and FreshAire.
Pierce County aviation planner Warren Henrickson told The News Tribune that the county, which owns the airport, will look for another restaurant tenant.
