  • Scientist say the impacts of climate change, including the prospects of rising sea levels may threaten low lying coastal and Puget Sound waterfront areas like Thea's park and areas of the Port of Tacoma with inundation and flood damage during high tide and storm events.
The Photo, taken Monday January 14, was during a King tide of 13.6 ft. . An earlier King tide on December 17th caused localized flooding throughout Puget Sound, including areas of Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia when high tides combined with low barometric pressure and high winds amplified tidal heights.
