A body recovered from the White River in Auburn was identified as that of a missing 47-year-old Auburn man, police said Saturday.
Police Cmdr. Mike Hirman said he suspects the man, Kenneth Neil Collins, drowned. Police don’t suspect foul play.
The manager of the Windsor Park Apartments in the 1400 block of 30th Street Southeast, where Collins lived, reported him missing Wednesday.
Collins’ body was recovered Friday from the White River near Game Farm Park after someone reported seeing it, Hirman said.
Officers searched the area of his apartment after he was reported missing. His apartment door had been left open. Collins had been seen walking around the apartment complex “insufficiently dressed for the cold weather,” police said.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to conduct an autopsy today or Monday to determine a cause of death, Hirman said.
