The body of an unidentified man was pulled out of the water at West Bay Marina about noon Sunday, according to the Olympia Fire Department.

According to Olympia Fire Chief J.D. Young:

About 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the Olympia Fire Department responded to a report of a possible drowning at the marina.

Once there, they found the body in the water between two boats under a covered area.

The unidentified man was fully clothed and had facial hair.

Olympia Fire worked with the Olympia Police Department to remove the body, Young said.

Olympia Police detectives and Thurston County Coroner representatives remained on the scene until about 5 p.m. Sunday, Olympia Police Sgt. Jim Partin said.

The man’s death is being treated as suspicious, although he also may have fallen off a boat or the dock.

“We’re looking at all possibilities,” Partin said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Paul Evers at 360-753-8041.
