Homeless program holds free community event

P roject Homeless Connect is holding a free community event from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the new Spanaway Elementary School, 412 165th St. S. It will feature information and a multitude of services including child support, voter registration, tobacco cessation, WIC, community voice mail, replacement driver’s license vouchers, pet spay and neuter, adult dental replacement, ID card vouchers, expunging services, disability resources, veterans services, chemical dependency, DSHS benefits, employment resources and more.     Nominations are now being accepted for the Tri-Citian of the Year award.

    The award honors community members committed to leadership, service and development and growth of the Tri-Cities.

    Nomination are due April 19 and forms are available online at tricitianoftheyear.org. The winner will be announced at a banquet May 11.
