The Washington State Patrol is treating two shootings early Sunday on eastbound state Route 16 and northbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma as separate incidents, trooper Guy Gill said Tuesday.
The only connection between the incidents is the similar times and close locations, he said. Different firearms were used in the shootings.
No one was injured in either incident.
In one, a minivan was struck about 4:15 a.m. between North Jackson Avenue and the eastbound Tacoma Narrows bridge; in the other, a full-size sedan on I-5 was hit multiple times about 4:45 a.m. between South 56th and 38th streets.
The State Patrol is continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call detective Vic Mauro at 253-538-3176.
