The City of Olympia will be closing the 700 block of Franklin Street SE beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, for a Homeless Connect Event to support the Thurston County Homeless Census. This closure is expected to last until 9 p.m. Thursday. Each year Thurston County does a Point-in-Time Homeless Census to learn who is homeless, why they are homeless and what resources exist to help people overcome homelessness. The results help to track progress on the Countys 10-year plan to reduce homelessness. The Homeless Connect Event will conduct the PIT Homeless Census during a Homeless Resource Fair offering food and survival commodities along with social and medical services.
