The Top Food & Drug Store in Lacey at 5600 Martin Way is set to close in the next four to six weeks, the store’s parent company, Haggen Inc., announced Wednesday.
The Bellingham-based company said it will work with the union that represents employees to place them at other Haggen stores. The Lacey store employs 47.
“As a company, we continually evaluate our stores and identify opportunities to strengthen our overall business,” said John Turley, co-president and senior vice-president of operations at Haggen Inc. “We make this decision reluctantly, knowing that it will impact our dedicated employees and loyal customers. We appreciate the patronage of our Lacey residents and hope they will consider visiting our Olympia location.”
