This year’s first quarter, traditionally the weakest for Sea-Tac’s Alaska Air Group because of the dearth of tourist traffic to its namesake state, again produced record profits, the company announced this morning.

Alaska Air Group says it gave nearly 13,000 employees about $74 million in bonuses Wednesday for exceeding 2012 financial goals.
In March, Bellingham International Airport set a new monthly record for passenger traffic.
Last month, 61,402 people flew out of the airport, topping the previous record of 55,407 set in July 2012, according to data compiled by the Port of Bellingham.
For the first quarter of 2013, the number of passengers flying out of Bellingham totaled 151,730, up 14.8 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
