At 1:47 p.m. on Monday, May 6 Puyallup Police and Central Pierce Fire and Rescue units responded to a vehicle versus building collision that caused significant damages to the Harborstone Credit Union at 3921 South Meridian and minjor injuries to four people.
Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 45-year-old man with robbing a Tacoma real estate business, stealing a car and crashing it into a vehicle carrying six children while fleeing from police.
Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews are in the 3900 block of South Meridian for a report of a vehicle into a building, according to assistant chief Randy Stephens. He said technical rescue workers have been called to the scene.
UPDATE as of 3 p.m. Two adults and a toddler were in the vehicle, and were not injured, Central Pierce assistant chief Randy Stephens said. One employee was partially trapped, but was not seriously injured, Stephens said. The Credit Union employee is being taken to Good Samaritan Hospital as a precaution, he said. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
