Two boats have sunk in the Hylebos Waterway near Tacoma.

The abandoned Helena Star and Golden West were chained together and moored at Mason Marina when they sank.

An oil containment boom has been put around the boats to prevent any fuel from spreading into the sound.

The Department of Ecology said most of the fuel from the boats was removed last March.

The DOE and Coast Guard are at the scene.
