Richland School Board President Rick Jansons will be the featured speaker at today's meeting of the Tri-Cities Republican Women's Club.

The group will gather for dinner at 6 p.m. at Kennewick's Tony Roma's, 8551 W. Gage Blvd.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m.

  • Prosser teen recognized as Youth of the Year

    PROSSER -- Ava Tolcacher, 18, has been named Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin County.

    The award recognizes outstanding contributions to family, school and community and the Boys & Girls Clubs, according to a release. Prosser High School senior will now compete for the state title and a $1,000 scholarship.

    This is the second year in a row that a youth from the Prosser Boys & Girls Club has won the area award.

    Joe Lausten has been named the Gig Harbor Midday Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for January.
