The Seattle Mariners have reportedly agreed to a major-league contract with catcher Kelly Shoppach on Wednesday, according to CBSSports.com.
Shoppach, 32, played for Mariners manager Eric Wedge in Cleveland from 2006-09.
Last season, Shoppach split time for the Red Sox and Mets, hitting .233 with eight home runs and 27 RBI in 76 games.
In 536 career games with the Red Sox (2005, 2012), Indians (2006-09), Rays (2010-11), and Mets (2012), Shoppach has hit .226 with 67 home runs and 207 RBI and has thrown out 29.08 percent of attempted base-stealers.
