I am voicing my support for the Puyallup School District School Bond issue on Feb. 12.
I was born and raised in Puyallup and have chosen to raise my family in this community as well. I have watched the Puyallup/South Hill area change tremendously, and with the growth comes the demand of housing students in our schools.
Yes, we have added two new elementary schools to the South Hill, but it is now time to do more construction for our future. Our population has outgrown our current buildings. Our elementary, junior high and our high schools need to be upgraded to meet the capacity of our growing community.
With passing the bond, the money will stay in our community. Our board will be able to decide the best and most efficient way to build and update our schools.
We have an obligation to meet the needs of our growing and changing community. We must invest in the future, so that our district can educate and house our students properly.
We need to invest in a strong education infrastructure so that our district can continue to grow and compete in the education system. Please don’t let this opportunity pass for the Puyallup School District.
