The local Association of Research and Enlightenment Search for God Study Group meets from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month.

The group focuses on the wrtitings of Edgar Cayce, and it meets in the home of members. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 4. For more information, call Joanne Kingsbury at 253-858-6982.

    Two local support groups -- the Better Breathers group and a group for people with pulmonary hypertension -- are combining to form a single group, which will meet the third Thursday of the month at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick.

    Their next meeting is from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday. Registered nurse Amy Downey will speak about how exercise can help with shortness of breath.

    Coming to Terms with Loss, a group for adults experiencing grief, will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays from April 9 to June 25.

  • PFLAG meeting in Richland to focus on laws for same-sex couples

    The Benton Franklin Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will talk about the state's laws for same-sex couples at its monthly meeting Tuesday.

    The discussion will cover legal and financial effects on same-sex couples.

    The group is intended as a safe and confidential place to share concerns and connect with other people. Meetings are facilitated and open to everyone.
