Brundage hosts Diva Day Saturday, Feb. 2
The event features lift ticket discounts for women, free chair massages, spa package giveaways and more. Women ages 18 and up can buy a full-day, all-mountain lift ticket for just $25, and bring that ticket back to the ticket office on Sunday, Feb. 3 to buy another $25 lift ticket.
A new feature this year is the Komen for the Cure booth, which will be located on the third floor of the lodge on Saturday. It will have health information and a “spin the wheel” contest with prizes. Diva Day participants can also register for the 15th annual Boise Race for the Cure at a discount rate of $15.

REI sponsors clinic on basics Wednesday, Feb. 6
The free clinic starts at 7 p.m. at the Boise store, 8300 W. Emerald St. REI staff will focus on the selection of gear as well as the basics on where to go to get started.

WILDLIFE WATCHING
Critter program setfor Feb. 9 at Foothills Center
Learn how animals survive the cold, snowy winter at a free all-ages program at the Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center, 3188 Sunset Peak Road.
Registration is not required for the ongoing program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s one of the Second Saturdays presentations. Bill London, a conservation officer with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, will share stories, pelts and skulls and a lifetime of experience during the program. Center staff and volunteers will also make animal tracks and other activities. Pets are not allowed.
To get to the center, take 8th Street north through Boise’s North End to the Hulls Gulch Reserve. From the end of the pavement go 1/3 mile. For details, go to BoiseEnvironmentalEducation.org or call 493-2530.

Outdoor Idaho focuses on recreation businesses
Idahoans who found business opportunities when looking for better equipment for their favorite outdoor activities are featured on Idaho Public Television.
The “Rec Tech” episode premieres Thursday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. and repeats Sunday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.
The episode shows Idaho’s innovators and entrepreneurs who are the toy builders for Idaho’s outdoor recreation industry, including a fly fishing reel maker, a company that makes mountain bike and BMX products, a jet boat maker, a hunting knife maker and a new energy bar company.
The episode also tells about the beginnings of bicycle and ski equipment breakthroughs that came from a company founded in Sun Valley.
