About 1,000 Lakewood residents face not having power restored tonight after a pole fire that caused power outages across Pierce County.
A downed power line caused some north Richland residents to lose power Friday morning.
The outage also affected some street and traffic lights along George Washington Way, city officials reported. Line crews restored power to all customers by 11:45 a.m., the city reported.
One mistake by a clumsy crane operator caused a 10-hour blackout over about a third of Vietnam, exposing the fragility of the nation's power grid.
BELLINGHAM - Businesses in central Fairhaven had sporadic power problems during a nearly three-hour outage Wednesday morning, Jan. 9.
About 45 customers were affected by the outage, which appears to have been caused by a failure in underground cables in the area, according to Puget Sound Energy spokeswoman MacKenzie McDowell. It was unclear what caused the failure.
Power went out at about 9 a.m. and returned at about 11:45 a.m., leaving many businesses with only partial power in between.
