One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-car rollover accident at Pacific Avenue and South Tacoma Way tonight, according to Tacoma Fire.
A 4 a.m. explosion near South 64th Street and South Tacoma Way was a blown transformer, according to Tacoma police.
Crews expect to reopen all lanes of South Tacoma Way before Monday morning’s commute, state Department of Transportation officials said Sunday night.
UPDATE: The patients were transported to a local trauma center, according to Tacoma Fire.
A Tacoma Sister Cities student-leadership conference is set for Feb. 26, bringing together about 20 students from Tacoma high schools along with representatives from Tacoma’s 12 sister cities, the Office of the Mayor, the Tacoma World Trade Center, the Port of Tacoma and other interested organizations.
