2 injured in Saturday shooting in Kennewick

Two men were hurt early Saturday in a shooting near 10th Avenue and Washington Street in Kennewick, authorities said.

The men were in a car that was hit with multiple gunshots about 1:45 a.m., Kennewick police said in a news release.

The men, who are 22 and 23 years old, went to a local hospital for treatment. Their names weren't released, and an update on their conditions wasn't available Saturday afternoon.

Kennewick police responded to the hospital, and Criminal Apprehension detectives are investigating the shooting, the release said.

Saturday evening, police released a photo of person of interest in the investigation.

    Authorities on Saturday released the names of the victims killed Friday in two separate shootings — one in Kennewick and the other in Finley.

    Franklin Scott Evans Palmer, 24, of Kennewick, was found dead after gunshots were reported at 7:39 a.m. Friday at a duplex at 520 E. Eighth Place in Kennewick.

    Police identified Grant Wayne Scantling, 41, as the suspect and Friday afternoon Spokane police arrested him at a home in the 2200 block of North Denver in Spokane. He was returned to Kennewick and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

    A Pasco teen charged with stabbing a rival gang member in the chest, barely missing the man's heart, was released from a juvenile institution just three days before Saturday's brawl outside a Kennewick home.

    Sergio Delgado, 17, was ordered held Thursday on $250,000 bail because of his criminal history and recent incarceration.

    He pleaded innocent in Benton County Superior Court to first-degree assault with a deadly weapon. Trial is scheduled April 1.

    Walla Walla police have arrested a 21-year-old on suspicion of first-degree assault in connection with a Saturday morning shooting that wounded a man.

    Shaun A. Crump was booked into the Walla County jail, according to a police news release. His girlfriend, Stephanie M. Katsel, 22, also was arrested on suspicion of first-degree rendering criminal assistance and booked into the jail, the release said.

    A man was shot and wounded in an alley in the 1700 block of Portland Avenue at 3:16 a.m. Saturday.
