A Federal Way man accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman on a date pleaded not guilty Monday to a rape charge.
Edwin K. DeBoer, 26, remained jailed in lieu of $300,000 bail after entering his plea in King County Superior Court.
Prosecutors alleged he took the woman out for dinner and drinks in November in Tacoma but she doesn’t remember anything that happened until she woke up naked the next morning in his bed. A hospital test found she had traces of a powerful sedative in her system.
DeBoer previously was charged with rape in an attack that took place in 2009 at the University of Washington fraternity where he was president. He pleaded guilty to the lesser crime of harassment and avoided a jail sentence.
