J an. 30 — Multiple Key Peninsula and Gig Harbor fire units responded to a head-on collision that shut down the Key Peninsula Highway in the 13200 block of state Route 302. Both drivers were entrapped, requiring use of hydraulic tools before they could be extricated. The patients were stabilized at scene and were transported to hospitals for continued evaluation and treatment. for their injuries. There was extensive damage to both vehicles.
